Nature + Networking: Group Hike At The Great Swamp

April 21 @ 1:00 pm - 3:30 pm EDT

Free

Enjoy an afternoon of networking while hiking The Great Swamp National Wildlife Refuge. Known as a natural oasis, it’s a wonderful place to spot migrating birds, especially the purple martins where there are several nesting houses right next to the parking lot!

The terrain is quite flat with lots of boardwalks, but some areas can be a tad muddy. Wear shoe that will keep your feet dry. Also, natural tick repellent will be available but feel free to bring your own insect spray.

We’ll meet in the pavilion next to the purple martin nesting houses at the Helen C. Fenske Visitor Center located at 32 Pleasant Plains Rd., Harding Township, NJ. No car, no problem! Take NJ Transit to Morristown Station and NJAS Secretary Susannah Pitman will pick you up! (just send us a message so we know you need a ride from the train station.)

This hike is open to members and nonmembers as well as their family members. There is no such things as bad weather…just bad clothing. With that said, in the event that good clothing cannot protect participants from the elements, we will meet at a nearby coffee house. Please include your cell phone number on your RSVP so that we can get in touch with you on the day of the event if needed.
